1. "Kogarasu Sabou" is popular for its fresh pudding ice cream.

This is Kougai Sabo, located down an alley just a 3-minute walk from Dazaifu Station, just off the approach to the shrine.

This shop is housed in a renovated traditional house that is over 100 years old. Their fresh pudding ice cream served in a cup is popular as a Food to eat on the go.

The fresh pudding ice cream comes in an aluminum container, and when you stick a spoon into it and remove it, it turns into ice cream shaped like custard pudding!

The caramel sauce on top and the pudding ice cream on the bottom go perfectly together! It's a delicious delicacy with a crunchy and jiggly texture.

This is Miffy Oyatsudo Dazaifu store, located just along the approach to the shrine, near Dazaifu Station.

The theme of this shop is "Miffy x Snack Time". The inside of the shop is filled with Miffy, making it a must-visit for Miffy fans.

3. "Chawawa" is popular for its rich matcha gelato.

This is Matcha Sweets Shop Sawawa Dazaifu Branch, located immediately to the left as you exit Dazaifu Station.

The shop has an impressive green exterior and is popular for its matcha ice cream, lattes, green tea, and souvenirs.

This is Hirosho Dazaifu store, located just along the approach to the shrine, near Dazaifu Station.

This shop is run by "Hirosho," a shop selling mentaiko (spicy cod roe) from Hakata. Mentaiko shumai and mentaiko meat buns are popular.

This time, I tried the Mentaiko Dashimaki Skewers, a collaboration product with Rojiya, a shop famous for its egg sandwiches. The Dazaifu branding is impressive.

The rolled omelet contains mentaiko, each grain of which has a distinct flavor. It pairs perfectly with the rolled omelet. As it is served on a skewer, it is also great for eating on the go.

5. Tenzan, popular for its Amaou strawberry dumplings.

This is Tenzan, a Japanese sweets shop located just outside Dazaifu Station, along the approach to the shrine.

This popular store is always bustling with customers, and offers many popular products such as onigawara monaka and warabimochi.

This time, we tried the "Amaou Strawberry Dango," a strawberry dessert perfect for snacking on the go while Tourism in Dazaifu. It's a cute-looking Japanese dessert with a large strawberry and a rice dumpling filled with sweet bean paste.

The winter-only Amaou strawberry daifuku monaka (with tsubuan paste, white bean paste, and Yamecha bean paste) are priced at 850 yen each and are a popular snack to eat on the go, often selling out.

6. "Gakunokonomi" offers adorable cat-themed sweets.

This is Gakunokonomi, located along the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

This shop sells Kinito Mont Blanc on the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. If you are visiting the Tourism, you can't miss this place. It's a hot topic as it serves up sweet treats perfect for eating while you're walking around.

8. "Terakoya Honpo" - Rice crackers with mochi filling, perfect for eating on the go.

9. Kasano-ya, a popular shop selling Umegae Mochi, a specialty of Dazaifu.

This is Yangzijiang, a pork bun shop located right next to Dazaifu Station.

13. Mentai French Bread Specialty Shop "YAMAYA BASE DAZAIFU"

This is YAMAYA BASE DAZAIFU , located at the entrance to the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

This is a specialty store for mentaiko French fries run by Fukuoka-based spicy mentaiko manufacturer "Yamaya."

When you order, they will bake it again in the oven, so it will be served hot and fluffy. The original plum pattern bag of the Dazaifu store is also cute ♪

This slightly soft French bread is perfect for eating on the go. The mentaiko filling is made with plenty of Yamaya's uncolored mentaiko, so it's absolutely delicious!

"Mentaiko French Bread with Pass Mark" is available for a limited time from November to the end of February , with only 200 bottles sold per day, making it a must-see for students taking exams.

14. Dazaifu Pudding, a popular pudding specialty shop in Dazaifu.

This is Dazaifu Pudding, located on the approach to the shrine just in front of Dazaifu Station.

This pudding specialty store opened in November 2025 and is particular about its ingredients and production methods.

It has a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth texture and the rich flavor of eggs and milk, making it a classic yet highly satisfying taste.
