Meiji Park is located in front of Hakata , where buildings are being renovated as part of " Hakata Connected," a downtown redevelopment project in Fukuoka City .

This time, the overall design supervisor is architect Sou Fujimoto, producer of the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo and known for the Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine Temporary Hall .
Meiji Park will be the setting for a new landmark where trees and architecture come together, and in conjunction with Fukuoka City's Fitness City project, it will feature "stairs that make you want to climb" and "a three-dimensional corridor that makes you want to walk."
There are also plans to set up health promotion facilities, which will consist of the following:

In addition to the multi-level corridors and health promotion facilities, the entrance will be enhanced with a floral gate and a symbolic tree .
At the same time, the company also plans to promote Fukuoka City's "10,000 Trees in the Urban Forest Project" by creating a "green oasis" by planting a variety of tree species, including deciduous and evergreen trees.
Furthermore, as part of efforts to improve the management and operation of the park, new technologies such as AI cameras for safety and security measures and people flow analysis will also be introduced.

Construction of Meiji Park is scheduled to begin in fiscal 2024, with the park gradually opening to the public from spring 2025.
